Online Help Back To Main

After I have become a member, how do I sign up for a volunteer project?
After your account has been activated, Then go out on the project and have a great time while helping to meet an important community need.

How do I remove myself from a project I cannot attend?
Go to the Volunteer section, click on "My Projects" and then click "Remove Me" from any projects you are unable to attend. Please do this as early as possible so that your slot will be available to another volunteer to fill. If you must cancel on the day of the project, please remove yourself through the website and call the Volunteer Leader listed with the project.

I don’t remember my password; how do I get a new one?
If you’ve forgotten your password, you should visit the Volunteer section and scroll down to “Forget Your Password?” Enter your email address and click “Email My Password Now”. Your password will be sent immediately.

If I have multiple email addresses, which e-mail do I use to login?
You may provide multiple email addresses (such as home and work), but you must select a primary (default) address. This address will serve as your account log-in, as well as the address to which you will receive HONEO communications. If you have forgotten which email address is listed as your default, please send a note to info@handsonneo.org

Why don't I receive system-generated emails (i.e., password request, registration or project confirmation)?
You may have a filter on your email account that causes these messages to be automatically directed to your “deleted” or “junk mail” folder. Please make sure to change the setting on your filters to accept messages from Hands On Northeast Ohio.

Why does "email address provided is already in use by another user" appear when I try to register?
This message probably means that you already have an account. To obtain your password, visit the Volunteer section and enter your email address in the "Forget your password?" section. Your password will be sent to you immediately.

I share an email address with my child, spouse, roommate, etc. Can we still each have a Hands On Northeast Ohio account?
Unfortunately, our system will only recognize one user per email address. If this presents a problem, you can set up an email address with a free service, such as yahoo, hotmail or gmail to use as your Hands On Northeast Ohio log-in. Or you can always call the HONEO office at 440-339-2268 to sign up for projects, update your contact information, and request a print version of the project calendar.

How do I change my password or email address?
After logging into the Volunteer section, choose the link for "Personal Information" in the upper right-hand corner. Under this screen you will find options to change your contact information, view your volunteer history and more. Remember to choose the "Update Information" button at the bottom of the screen when you make changes.

Why do I get a message that says my account is restricted when I try to sign up for a project?
Your account may be missing some required information. Required fields, such as birthdate, are marked with an orange asterisk and can be updated at the Volunteer section. Also remember that you must attend an orientation to sign up for the Hands On calendared projects.

Who do I contact for help in using the Hands On NEO website?
If you have any questions or need further assistance using the HONEO website, please feel free to email us at info@handsonneo.org or call 440-339-2268
